To Safely Remove or Not to Safely Remove?

Removing External Devices

External Storage Devices
External Storage Devices

Up to now the Windows default is to set your external drives to top performance mode and require you to safely eject the hardware from your taskbar in an effort to prevent any data loss. From now on, Windows 10 will set the external storage media settings to a lower performance default which no longer requires a safe removal process and has a decreased risk of data loss. You can choose to change these settings back to high performance by changing the drive's properties - not sure how to do this? We can help either in-person or via our remote servicing options.
