For security and privacy reasons, it's a good idea to check what your downloaded apps have access to.
For example, it was recently discovered that the Netflix app was accessing physical activity data on mobile devices using a recent version of Android. They claimed to be using the data to see if people were using their streaming services while on the move (walking, biking, running, driving) but did not say how they would be using the data.
This is not something one would intuitively check for when downloading a media streaming service, so with that in mind, no matter what your device, always be sure to check your permissions for all your apps.
