Minimalism is a simple, yet effective tool in web design. Users have no choice but to pay attention to the element or text you are featuring, nor do they have to search hard for it. Minimalism removes anything that does not support the user's task. We think with those points you can consider it a winning concept.
A word of caution: because minimalism often invokes a flat design, you must make sure it is clear where your users can click for more information. This may also result in MANY more pages than with a traditional design, in order to convey the necessary information.
We recommend pairing this concept with motion or interactive design (ie. elements that move or change when moused-over) to aid in directing users to their desired information.
