Spring Clean Your Website

Spring is just around the corner, which means this is a great time to give your site a little seasonal clean! The goal here is to make sure everything is working properly, aesthetically pleasing and meeting your business targets. Here are a few bases you should cover:

  1. Be sure all your software and plug-ins are up-to-date: these will help alleviate any bugs and security issues your visitors may be experiencing

  2. Review your analytics: do any pages have a high bounce rate? are any pages not being visited at all? are you capturing your target audience? What percentage of your customers are mobile and does your website cater to them?

  3. Verify all your links: broken links can affect your SEO rating and frustrate users. If all of your links are working, are they relevant? Could you benefit from adding new ones or refreshing old ones?

  4. Proofread: it's amazing how many times you may have read a page that you've been editing and your mind skipped over or filled in the correct word here and there. Be sure to re-read all of your content for spelling and grammatical errors to maintain professionalism.

  5. Review your site's mobile-friendliness: mobile devices count for more and more site visits every day. Be sure that all your sections, headers, relevant content and links are visible and accessible to mobile users.

  6. Update your content: stale website content slowly pulls down your sites ranking, and it doesn't give customers a reason to return to your site. Be sure that you refresh your text and media regularly OR give various pages a complete overhaul once-in-a-while!
